Loudon Motors Ford Weekly Business Highlight: Consumers National Bank

Consumers National Bank, formerly known as Minerva National Bank, has called Minerva its home since it was first opened by a group of businessmen from Minerva in 1965. From their website, “On August 30, 1965, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted a charter to Minerva National Bank. With five employees and assets of $300,000, the bank's first branch and corporate offices were opened in Minerva on September 7, 1965.”

After opening the first branch in their hometown, the founders expanded the bank to Salem, Ohio in 1975 and changed the name to Consumers National Bank. From that point on, the bank continued to grow and is now has 11 more offices in the neighboring communities of Waynesburg, Hanoverton, Carrollton, Alliance, Lisbon, Louisville, East Canton, Malvern, Hartville, Jackson-Belden and Bergholz. Even after expansion, their mission to make a difference in their community and be the go-to community bank in our market holds true.

Consumers National Bank is a true homegrown business that has had great success. At Loudon Motors Ford, we do business with the bank almost everyday and have nothing but good things to say about their service, as they truly care about their customers.

Consumers National Bank has a strategic philosophy for the market they are in and state it perfectly on their website.

From their ‘about’ section on their website, “At Consumers National Bank, we support a community-based banking model, with the unique ability for fast, flexible service. Whether the customer is walking into a branch or accessing online banking, we are striving to build lifetime relationships and superior shareholder returns.

We consider each staff member a valuable part of our strategy, encouraging continuing education and offering opportunities for advancement within the company. We hope that when a customer interacts with a Consumers National Bank associate, they feel that they've had their financial needs met and expectations exceeded. Our goal is that this be the Consumers experience.

The bank continues to look for better and more efficient ways to improve. By combining today's technology with the experience and commitment of our employees, we are able to offer competitive financial services and meet the needs of a broad range of customers.

We look forward to controlled, steady growth in markets similar to those we currently serve, in both geographic and demographic profiles. We will look for opportunities to generate additional dollars to the bottom line by enhancing core product offerings and adding services outside traditional bank offerings. We strive to provide our customers with accessibility to their banking through personal contact or state-of-the-art technology.”
