Loudon Motors Ford Reviews the 2019 Ford EcoSport

The Ford Ecosport was first introduced by Ford Brazil in 2003 and was picked up for production by India, Thailand, Russia and Romania in 2012 when the second generation concept came out. It was not until two years ago, in 2017, that the vehicle hit the market in the United States. WIth the vehicle being in mass production for 16 years across the world, we are able to enjoy all of the advancements in the all new 2019 model.

First, let’s start off with power and handling. The 2019 EcoSport comes in 4 trims: S, SE, SES and Titanium. At the base level, the vehicle has a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that packs 123 hp. At its highest level, the Titanium, you have the option to stick with the base engine and front-wheel drive, or upgrade to all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine packing 166 hp. Both of the engine options are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. As for handling, the crossover SUV’s capabilities are impressive despite its top heavy design. You are able to cruise through winding, country roads without a worry. Also, when tested, the vehicle was able to make a complete stop in 124 feet from going 60 mph.

The interior of the vehicle boats comfort, as the the EcoSport’s extremely quiet engine is complimented by a roomy cabin and superior climate control. The vehicle is also equipped with the Ford Sync 3 Infotainment system which includes a touch screen entertainment center that has voice control for your phone, music and navigation. You are also able to connect any device using bluetooth or Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The most impressive technological advancement to this model is the B&O Play audio system which is standard on all trims. The crossover SUV also has a rear view backup camera and blind spot monitoring which adds to its already great safety rating.
