Get the Most Range out of your EV in the Winter
No matter what kind of vehicle you drive, cold temperatures can affect your car’s battery. This is especially important to consider when you are driving a Ford electric vehicle, as EV batteries operate differently than batteries in gas-powered cars and trucks.
When cold weather in Ohio hits, there is one thing you need to remember to keep your EV performing its best under chilly conditions:
PRECONDITION YOUR FORD
By preconditioning the battery while connected to a power source, you’re using your home or office’s power to preheat the battery to the perfect temperature. This saves you from doing so on the road and extends the range you’ll get out of your upcoming trip.
Set your departure time in your Ford Pass app or in the vehicle’s sync screen. You’ll receive an alert in the app when your vehicle has reached it’s optimal temperature.
Now you’re ready to hit the road in your Ford electric vehicle!
No more trudging out in the snow in the morning to start your car. The best part? This process can be automated for any day of the week. Set your work or travel schedule ahead of time in the sync screen or app, and have your EV ready when you are.
