Save Big During Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday at Loudon Motors Ford!

From August 1 through August 14, 2025, Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday is back! While most people associate it with school supplies and clothing, it’s also an incredible time to save on car parts, vehicle service, and maintenance at Loudon Motors Ford in Minerva, Ohio.

Whether you’re due for new tires, brakes, a battery, or just need regular car maintenance, this is the perfect opportunity to schedule your appointment and skip the sales tax. And yes, Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday includes certain auto repair items under $500.

What Is the Ohio Sales Tax Holiday?

The Sales Tax Holiday is a two-week statewide event when Ohio waives all state and local sales tax on qualifying purchases. This year, it runs from August 1–14, 2025, and applies to more than just school supplies. It also includes many automotive parts and repair services.

What Car Parts and Services Qualify?

You can save on car parts and services priced at $500 or less per item. If you’re coming in for car repair or maintenance, now is the perfect time to take care of it. Here’s what qualifies:

  • Brake pads and rotors

  • Car batteries

  • Tires (if $500 or less per tire)

  • Oil changes (when parts and labor are itemized)

  • Air filters, cabin filters, and wipers

  • Fluids, belts, and hoses

  • Ford merchandise like apparel and accessories

If a repair includes both parts and labor, the labor is tax-exempt, but only if it’s separately listed and tied to a qualifying part under $500.

Can You Buy a Car Tax-Free?

No, you cannot buy a car tax-free during Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday.

Vehicle sales, including cars, trucks, SUVs, and trailers, are not included in the list of qualifying purchases for the tax holiday. Even if you purchase a vehicle for under $500, the sale of titled property is excluded by law.

However, car parts, car repair services, and routine maintenance items absolutely do qualify! So if your current vehicle needs a little attention before back-to-school or fall road trips, now’s the time to save.

What Doesn’t Qualify?

  • Vehicle sales or lease agreements

  • Accessories added to a vehicle at time of the vehicle’s sale

  • Backordered items not paid for during the holiday

  • Non-itemized service invoices (labor must be separated)
